Thousand Oaks is a city in southeastern Ventura County, California, approximately 35 miles (56 km) from Downtown Los Angeles and less than 15 miles (24 km) from the Los Angeles neighborhood of Woodland Hills. Named for its numerous oak trees, the city's seal features an oak. Thousand Oaks is the central city of the Conejo Valley, encompassing areas like Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, and Oak Park. The city's eastern boundary with Westlake Village aligns with the Los Angeles County/Ventura County line.
