Located right outside the city, Malibu is the quickest destination you can travel to that will still make you feel like you are in a new city. With idyllic hikes and pristine beaches, Malibu is sure to make you forget about the woes of the city and LA traffic. And of course, who can say no to a beach day at some of the most picturesque spots in California?
For nature lovers, this is a great spot to explore some new hikes with stunning views of the sea. Check out Malibu Creek State Park or Zuma Canyon Trailhead. If you're looking for a more upscale experience, head to Duke’s, Geoffrey’s or Nobu for a meal fit for royalty.

Drive time: 1 Hour 20 Minutes
If you didn’t already know, Ojai is one of LA’s best kept secrets. Ojai is also known for its spiritual and wellness communities, with many yoga studios, meditation centers, and healing retreats. The city hosts several events throughout the year, including the Ojai Music Festival, the Ojai Film Festival, and the Ojai Wine Festival.
If you only had a day to spend in Ojai, we definitely recommend checking out the Ojai Valley Inn, a luxury resort and spa that has been a destination for celebrities and travelers since the early 1900s. The resort features a golf course, multiple pools, tennis courts, and a world-class spa.
Soak up the small-town vibes by walking the streets and exploring all of the art, cafes, and gorgeous scenery Ojai has to offer. Overall, Ojai is a unique and beautiful city that offers a blend of natural beauty, outdoor recreation, arts, culture, and wellness opportunities.
